District Groups and Programs

Niskayuna Continuing Education Program
The kids are back to school--Parents can go, too!  Niskayuna's excellent district Continuing Education Program has programs and classes for both adults and children.
Class offerings include swimming, bridge, horseback riding, photography, ZUMBA, retirement planning, and more!

Niskayuna Arts Program
The Nisk-Art Gallery at Niskayuna High School has constantly rotating displays of artwork by students all over the district (including our own Birchwood students).  More student artwork is displayed in the High School Auditorium hallways and the halls of the District Offices at Van Antwerp.
Annual district art shows include the Best of Niska-Art, Niskayuna in 3D, the District Office Elementary Art Show, and student shows at the Niskayuna Town Hall.
Visit the webpage of the Niskayuna CSD Department of Arts Education for shows information, schedules, and a look at more student artwork!

Niskayuna Friends of Music (FOM)
Music begins in Kindergarten… and continues through 12th grade. The foundation of our music program starts with your children. Niskayuna Friends of Music (FOM) is a volunteer district booster group  that supports your child’s musical journey. Please consider joining FOM to help support the music program within Birchwood, and all the schools within the district.
In 2014, Niskayuna was recognized for its outstanding commitment to music education and named in the top 375 Best Communities for Music Education in the country. We intend to keep it that way! Please check out our website at http://www.niskyfom.org/ for more information on what we do, upcoming concert events, etc. You can also contact Birchwood FOM Liaison Tammy Apkarian to find out more.
